Dependable Ground School was founded by Captain James "JJ" Johnson, a former regional airline captain with a passion for aviation education. What started as a small flight training operation has grown into one of the region's most respected flight schools.
JJ's vision was simple: create a flight school that prioritizes safety, quality instruction, and student success above all else. After years of flying commercially and instructing part-time, he saw the need for a training facility that combined professional-level instruction with a personalized approach.
From our humble beginnings with a single Cessna 172 and two instructors, we've grown to operate a fleet of 12 modern aircraft and employ 15 aviation professionals. Despite our growth, we've never lost sight of our core mission.
Today, Dependable Ground School is proud to be a leader in aviation education, with graduates flying for major airlines, corporate flight departments, and pursuing careers throughout the aviation industry.
